MAISONNEUVE CITERNE announces the release of a hybrid aluminium / stainless steel tank for the transportation of chemicals
The transportation of chemicals is a highly competitive sector and carriers operating in this market need a high payload vehicle at the right price.
In this scope, the R & D teams of MAISONNEUVE CITERNE and BENALU started in early 2019 a collaboration to develop a vehicle the weight of which would be optimized and using materials to reduce production costs. From this collaboration came the CHEMTANKER, a hybrid stainless steel / aluminium vehicle.
« The group’s R & D teams have naturally thought of substituting stainless steel for aluminium to optimize the weight and manufacturing costs of the chassis. The MAISONNEUVE teams had already had this idea, but MAISONNEUVE did not have at the time the know-how and the necessary technologies … the BENALU teams brought this skill ». Said Renaud Sueur, Chairman of the BENALU Group.
« The result of the collaboration is a vehicle with optimized weight and cost, without compromising the durability of the equipment! » says Renaud Sueur, Chairman of the BENALU Group.
The CHEMTANKER presents the optimal technical characteristics of a tank for the transport of chemicals: length of 11.7 m, volume of 37,500 l and weight of 7.4 t. It has an aluminium chassis designed by BENALU’s R & D teams, using its own profiles and ensuring an excellent durability over time.
The production of the CHEMTANKER is already industrialized; the vehicle is available on order.
