Benalu bought Maisonneuve !

News

The Benalu Group, based in Liévin in the Pas-de-Calais, is consolidating its position as the European leader in the manufacture of vehicles for bulk transport (solid and liquid), with the resumption of operations of the Maisonneuve Group, which specializes in design and manufacture of tank vehicles, stainless steel beer kegs, and water treatment plants.

Insolvency procedure

The Norman bodybuilding company which was created 80 years ago was subject to a bankruptcy procedure since Tuesday, May 29, 2018, before the Commercial Court of Coutances validated July 17 last offer of takeover by the Benalu group . The BENALU Group now owns four Companies: Benalu, Bennes Marrel, Mega and Maisonneuve. ” We are very pleased to have been able to achieve, in a very competitive context, the resumption of the activities of the MAISONNEUVE Group. This recovery represents a fantastic development opportunity for the BENALU group in the tanker segment for the transport of liquids. It is indeed a great satisfaction to be able to achieve a recovery fully in line with the development strategy of the group that we lead. I add that this recovery is done with the full support of the MAISONNEUVE Group teams who see in this merger, the way to become a key player in liquid bulk in Europe. »

A strategic acquisition

Two new companies emerge from this operation: Maisonneuve Citerne which takes over the activity of manufacturing tanks and wastewater stations; as well as Maisonneuve Keg, who takes over the beer kegs activity. The production of tanks generates sales of around € 20 million and employs 130 people in Cérences in the département La Manche. Maisonneuve cistern is active in all segments of its market: hydrocarbons, chemistry, water, milk collection, food, bitumen, wastewater and liquefied gases. The Norman company has developed its sales in France and abroad thanks to the quality of its products and its capacity for innovation (i.e. tanks dedicated to the collection of milk with electrical servoing).

According to Renaud Sueur, “Benalu’s ambition for Maisonneuve will be to carry on developing its market shares in France and Europe, by giving it the benefit of its industrial know-how, its distribution network and its purchasing capacities “.

This acquisition is perfectly in line with the BENALU Group’s strategy of consolidating its leading position in Europe in the heavy-vehicle segment (semi-trailers and heavy-lift carriers) for bulk transport (solid and liquid).

Today the Benalu Group owns four production plants: Liévin (F62), Andrézieux-Bouthéon (F42), Cérences (F50) et Nysa (PL) and employs almost 1200 employees.
